Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London, on 22 August 1995. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017 following her been signed by Warner Bros Records. The album peaked at the top spot at No. three on the U.K. Charts. The album had eight singles released including Be the One I.D.G.A.F., and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British breakthrough act in 2018. Dua Lipa was the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London, was born on the 22nd of August, 1995. She has Bosnian descent through her maternal grandmother. Additionally, her ancestors are from Peja, which is a Kosovo town of Peja. Her grandfathers were both historians. Her siblings are Rina Gjin and Gjin. The father of Lipa, who was a guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan the band Oda has influenced her in a musical way. In her home, Lipa's father would play music from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing when she was just six years old. When she was in her 9th year she was singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed If I Ain't gone You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. In August of 2015 her first single New Love came out.
