Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada. She is American. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk rock as well as alternative rock, but it also has influences from punk funk hip hop and jazz. Ani Difranco has been widely acknowledged as a pioneer of feminist music. In the year 1990, she was among the first to establish her own label independently. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September, 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father has Italian origins. Ani DiFranco composed and sang 32 Flavors. The song is featured on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. A version of the song can be heard in the film Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco has since apologized after it was discovered that she was scheduled to hold a 3-day workshop at the site of a Louisiana former slave plantation. It was cancelled but the majority of people (including the author of this article) were not able to sense any regret. DiFranco offered an apology only a few days following. Although she is known for her role as the Little Folksinger her songs have embraced a variety of genres and collaborators ranging across the spectrum from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. The place she lives is New Orleans. Ani is Kristen Ford. In 14 years she was making her own songs. The teens she was in were performing them in bars and coffee shops. DiFranco has graduated at age sixteen at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, began to attend classes in Buffalo State College. DiFranco is at home with her family in New Orleans where she lives with her husband and two kids and sidekick Lefty their dog with a long leash who wanders in and out of frame as we chat. DiFranco has admitted that she feels mixed emotions about her previous career that spans over three years.
