
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Jayek Jimenez (born September 2, 1966)[3][4][5[5] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. She began her career in Mexico with leading roles in the Telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as also in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) and for which she won an Ariel Award nomination. With roles in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) and Dogma (1999), she quickly made her mark as a star in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also co-produced, made her the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6Additionally, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations.
